The Emperor's Choice Tour presents a unique opportunity to visit the great cities of far away China. Our spectacular journey begins in Beijing, the capital of China. The resplendent golden roofs of the Forbidden City, the historic Tiananmen Square, the poetic Summer Palace and the Great Wall reflect the imperial splendor of this amazing city. We will travel to Xian, the ancient capital that holds the greatest appeal for those most interested in the history of the Middle Kingdom. Incredible outings take us to one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the century; the Tomb Complex of Emperor Qin's army of over 6,000 Terra Cotta Warriors. Visit the Ancient City Walls and Big Wild Goose Pagoda which houses sacred Buddhist script brought from India at a time when religions were born. In the old "treaty port" of Shanghai, we'll tour a city full of stately European buildings. Twisting streets, lined with teahouses, shops and reataurants carry us along to some of the city's best sightseeing highlights such as the Bund, Yuyuan Gardens, and the Temple of the Jade Buddha. Journey south through Guilin's breath-taking countryside and drift down the silky Li River. Cormorant fishermen, gumdrop mountains and the boundless beauty of the Chinese landscape come to life like the gentle strokes of an artist's scroll. Our journey ends in the new Hong Kong, a modern amalgamation of east and west and everything in between.
To the Journeyer:
The ancient cultures and capitals of China come to life in the Emperor's Choice Tour. Beijing, Xian, Guilin, Shanghai and Suzhou were the first cities opened to western tourists in the 1980's. The Great Wall, the Terra Cotta Warriors, the Li River and the Bund are all must-sees for the first time traveler's to the Middle Kingdom. The tourist facilities in these areas are some of the best that China has to offer and conditions on tour are comfortable. But with careful planning China Professional Tours will help you discover a more authentic China; from the back alleys of Beijing's old "hutong" neighborhoods to less-frequented sections of the Great Wall. |
